SDK Main Modules

The C2X protocol stack enables wireless ad hoc and multi-hop communication among cars as well as among cars and infrastructure base stations along roads. It provides unicast, topologically- and geographically-scoped broadcast. Enhanced algorithms and protocol mechanisms ensure efficient and reliable data transmission, and protect security and anonymity.

The stack was developed for the Linux operating system and runs on x86 hardware platforms as well as selected embedded systems.

The Application Programming Interface (API) provides access to the protocol stack. It includes message format definitions, abstract functions to send and receive application messages, access to management and configuration interfaces. Libraries can aggregate application data and allow efficient and structured information exchange among protocol layers.

The API allows applications to be executed on dedicated application units (such as PNAs), which can run under various operating systems.
